Facilitator Training
The SoulCollage® Facilitator Training is for anyone who wants to facilitate SoulCollage® for self-discovery in groups and with individuals and/or anyone who is seeking an in-depth immersion in the SoulCollage® community experience.
The Training assumes a working knowledge of SoulCollage®, that a person has read SoulCollage® Evolving, listened to the two CDs (Introduction to SoulCollage® and Facilitating SoulCollage® in Groups), made cards (at least a few in each suit) and wants to use it in the work that they are already doing or beginning. This one-weekend training is required for a person to call themselves a SoulCollage® Facilitator and their groups SoulCollage® Groups. If you really want to use SoulCollage® fully in your work, you will want to attend the Facilitator Training.
Who should participate?
Anyone who would like to form SoulCollage® Groups or use SoulCollage® in already established groups (such as church groups, women's groups, senior groups, hospice, educational classes) or as an art technique as an adjunct to other kinds of groups, classes, or workshops is welcome to register.
SoulCollage® Trainings have attracted many therapists and art therapists who love the SoulCollage® process and see readily how it can be used in their work. Training participants network with each other and share how to adapt the SoulCollage® process to their clientele. Some ministers and lay clergy have also completed the Training to be able to facilitate SoulCollage® in their ministry.
No degree or other credentialing is required to attend the Training. Enthusiasm for the process and its use in one's own life are the chief criteria for participation.
This course meets the qualifications for 18 hours of continuing education credit for MFTs and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. A certificate of attendance will be provided by SoulCollage Inc. #4889. Any participant who is licensed in another state must check with that state's licensing board to determine if credits granted in this course will be accepted by that board.
What the SoulCollage® Facilitator Training Covers
- How to facilitate SoulCollage® card-making, including ways to support self-esteem and avoid competition and self-criticism.
- How to implement a therapeutic structure which both protects and encourages self-discovery, without the facilitator doing therapy.
- Ways to adapt the process to different individual issues and different populations.
- Demonstration of ceremonial work with SoulCollage® cards.
- Discussion about how to use the internet to support and encourage SoulCollage® community, including the SoulCollage® Facilitators' Listserve, the Facilitator's "Neter Letter" newsletter, SoulCollage® Exhibitions, and referral listings on the website for trained SoulCollage® Facilitators.
- Help in envisioning a plan for facilitating SoulCollage® that fits your own passions, intentions, and competencies.
- Ethical pitfalls and challenges that might arise when one is working with individuals and groups using the powerful spiritual and personal images of SoulCollage®.
Participants make cards, share cards, and use their own processes as teaching examples for the group in learning how to facilitate SoulCollage® work, because the focus in the Training is training rather than card-making per se as in a workshop. We learn how to do "readings" which use our own intuition to deepen self-knowledge. We learn creative applications and how to adapt the process to different populations. We work towards constructing a plan that fits participants intended use of the technique.
SoulCollage® continues to teach me acceptance and love for myself and others. This weekend deepened my understanding of how alike we all are deep inside, behind all our roles and tastes. I feel more confident about my ability to attract and share with others who will benefit. I feel excited to let my unique voice and power ring out. The opportunity to help others find the magic of the process is an amazing gift. (J. B., Tulsa, OK)

Preparation and Pre-Requisites
No degree or certification is required to take this training, but Seena Frost requires that participants prepare by reading the book, listening to Seena's two talks about SoulCollage® on audiotapes (or CDs) and beginning to make SoulCollage® cards for their own decks in each suit, so that they can get experience with their own card-making before working with others learning to make cards. Seena requests that participants bring all their SoulCollage® cards when they come for the Training.
SoulCollage® Facilitator Training - Diversity Scholarship Fund
In 2008, the Facilitators Conference Planning Committee had the privilege of establishing the SoulCollage® Diversity Scholarship Fund with profits from the 2008 Conference. The mission of the SoulCollage® Diversity Scholarship Fund is to encourage inclusiveness and access for individuals in a wide variety of unique situations with a focus on serving under-served populations. In additional to financial need, candidates who apply for this Scholarship must be working currently and directly with a community that meets this guideline. Potential applicants can contact Nancy Weiss at nancyweiss@gmail.com or Alia Moore at alia@soulcollage.com.
Schedule and What to Bring
In order to receive a completion certificate, all sessions must be attended, so please make your travel plans to permit your attendance at all sessions.
Be sure to bring all your SoulCollage® cards. You do not need to bring images as those will be provided. If you are using 5 x 8 inch cards there will be blank cards provided. If your cards are another size, bring some blanks. Glue and scissors will be provided, but you can bring your own if you have special ones you like. (Don’t take scissors in your carry-on!)
