About The Founder of Sacred Wisdom Centre

Barbara Susan Booth M.A., D.Min. is the founder and director of Sacred Wisdom Centre, an organization she inaugurated in December 2006 with a workshop featuring Marion Woodman and Andrew Harvey. She has sponsored many prominent teachers since that time including Coleman Barks, Joanna Macy, Matthew Fox, David Darling, Drew Dellinger, Neil Douglas Klotz, Bruce Chilton, Lauren Artress, Seena Frost, Mary Evelyn Tucker, Kaleo and Elise Ching, Marianne Williamson, Anne Hillman, John Philip Newell and Ilia Delio. Sacred Wisdom Centre has benefitted from partnering with Wisdom University, The Guelph Seminar, Ignatius Jesuit Centre, St. George’s Church and St. Jerome’s University to bring a diversity of excellent presentations to Guelph. Ontario welcomes our guests and we lessen the carbon footprint by keeping travel to a minimum.

Barbara offered a licensed school psychology private practice in Ontario until 2013.  She retired in 2005 from Waterloo Region District School Board after a long professional career where she worked as a program leader with a multi-disciplinary team, teaching organizational development skills and focusing on  interagency partnership and innovation. In 2001 she graduated from Matthew Fox’s University of Creation Spirituality in the Doctor of Ministry program with a dissertation on “The Emergence of the Conscious Feminine." In 2008 she completed the BodySoul Rhythms® Leadership Training Program with the Marion Woodman Foundation, taught for a year with a team in California and served on the board of directors for that foundation. In 2012 she completed the SoulCollage® Facilitator Training and subsequently taught many workshops in that field. In 2013 she took a training in Spiritual Direction at Ignatius Jesuit Centre and continues a vital connection there.

Her life work has focused on promoting the love of learning, the love of creativity and love of intuitive wisdom, while gathering those to share in the deeper meaning of what is sacred.

*About the logo - The logo, the symbol for Sacred Wisdom Centre was created by acclaimed Guelph artist and potter, Goldie Sherman. This mandala design was originally produced in a blessing bowl, purchased by Barbara to honour the completion of the first sponsored workshop in December 2006. Since then, Sacred Wisdom Centre has gifted speakers with blessing bowls made by this artist and they have traveled home with presenters to Europe and throughout the US and Canada. http://goldieshermanvessels.blogspot.com/.
